Sirius confirmed tour dates in 2012

Dear all, we are very pleased to announce that we have confirmed our tour dates in the year 2012!

From April 27 to May 6, 2012 we are going on tour with the Landesakademie Ochsenhausen String Ensemble (under Herr Direktor Klaus Weigele’s baton), performing the repertoire from the album Racing Mind. The repertoire, completely composed by our wonderful violinist, Gregor Hübner, consists of a cello concerto (Jeremy Harman, cellist), a violin concerto (Gregor Hübner, violinist), and a suite for string quartet (Sirius), percussion and string orchestra (“Cuban Impressions“).

Also, in the beginning of the tour, we are going to give an improvisation workshop for a few days in Landesakademie Ochsenhausen. So if you’re interested (no previous improv experience needed), please contact the Landesakademie through their website. We promise to bring you a fun learning experience!

New Sirius CD Out Now!

Dear all, some of you might already know that Sirius has released its new album, Cityscapes. It was released in part with our Germany tour that just finished earlier this month.

Cityscapes includes music composed by our violinists Gregor Huebner and Fung Chern Hwei, our former cellist Mike Block, also friends of Sirius, cellist Rubin Khodeli and trombonist Dave Taylor. It is an eclectic stew that can only be boiled out of the melting pot of New York City.

If you’re interested to get yourself a copy (which we strongly encourage!) or if you have any questions about this album, please don’t hesitate to e-mail us through our website. We will be happy to answer!

TOUR BLOG: FALLING ACTION AND RESOLUTION…

So, we’re at the end of the road… the month of October definitely flew by. I feel like when you do any kind of traveling it puts you in some sort of time warp, as if you’re living an alternate life for a while.  So I have to leave my German alter ego behind, for now…
